Contemporary jazz singer-songwriter Rondi Charleston’s has developed the songwriter side of the hyphenate in Who Knows Where The Time Goes (Motema Music), the follow-up to her critically acclaimed 2008 album In My Life.

The big difference this time is that she has four originals, twice as many as In My Life–which included what has since become a concert favorite, “Telescope.”

“The originals are getting the most amazing response–much to my delight and surprise,” says Charleston of the new material. Along with cover songs by the likes of Stevie Wonder (“Overjoyed”), Percy Mayfield (“Please Send Me Someone To Love”), Antonio Carlos Jobim (“Wave”) and Burton Lane & Frank Loesser (“I Hear Music”), Charleston’s songs deal with what she calls “our collective relationship with time.”
